NOTE: This schedule is publicly visible so that all volunteers are able to check their own schedules. Because of this, the schedule has been depersonalised as much as possible but please let Kevin know if there are any privacy concerns.

Volunteer Sign-Up Procedure

This is a follow-up procedure after someone expresses an interest in being a kitchen volunteer and its goals are to collect contact details and information about their skills and availability so that they can be lined up for an induction and be ready to be added to a weekly roster.

For each new volunteer:

1. Contact the new volunteer by phone/chat
2. Add a new row to the Volunteers' Contact Details spreadsheet with:
   1. Name they would like to identified as
   2. Pref
   3. Their preferred means of contact e.g. FB, phone, SMS
   4. Mobile number
   5. E-mail address
3. Add them to the Social Space chat - this is important to make sure that we capture the correct Facebook account since the Facebook handle isn't usually enough
4. Confirm that they are interested in working with the kitchen crew. If not, arrange for them to be contacted by relevant people (e.g. Cedryck/Linda for gardens, Jenn for shop), skip the remaining steps below except for the Communify registration.
5. Add them to the Social Space Crew group.
6. Add a new row to the Volunteers' Schedule spreadsheet with:
   1. Name they would like to identified as (this should be the same as on the contact list)
   2. Their preferred means of contact e.g. FB, phone, SMS
   3. Whether they are able to take on the Principle Cook role for a day i.e. lead the cooking and food preparation
   4. Whether they are able to make coffee with a commercial espresso machine
   5. Whether a TSS induction is required (this will almost always be YES unless they are TSS ex-volunteers)
   6. Leave a comment to all days that they may be available for a shift. Feel free to add notes about specific conditions or upcoming changes of availability e.g. "10:00am onwards" or "From 24 Jan 2024"
   7. Add any other relevant notes in the Comments columns
7. Register with Communify:
   1. Pass on link to volunteer registration page: https://communify.org.au/volunteer/
   2. Inform new volunteer that registration provides insurance coverage for injury and public liability.
